THE UPPER GI, BARIATRIC AND METABOLIC SURGERY UNIT
The UpperGI, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery unit performs operations for benign and malignant conditions affectingthe gullet or the food pipe (oesophagus), stomach and the duodenum (first part of the small bowel). This unit also specializes in surgical management of obesity (Bariatric and metabolic surgery). The surgical procedures are performed by minimally invasive (key-hole) or open technique based on individual merit of the case.
We undertake multidisciplinary approach towards prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Upper gastrointestinal diseases including cancer, tailored to suit the individual patient. We have excellent Radiology, Oncology (Radiation/Chemotherapy),Gastroenterology, Medical Endocrinology, Anaesthesia and Intensive careunit support to complement totality of services provided by us.
