Undergraduate Course

We participate in all the teaching curriculum of the undergraduate (medical/ nursing/ physiotherapy) courses.  We are actively involved in integrated lectures for the preclinical students.  During the clinical postings the students are exposed and taught to work up cases: there by learning the art of history taking, examination, giving differential diagnoses & appropriate management.

They are taught basic surgical skills and get hands-on experience in working up cases in the wards during the clerkship posting.

All throughout, they are exposed to problem based learning, assessments, objective structured clinical examinations (OSCE)& end of posting examinations to get them ready for the final MBBS examination.

During Internship they learn to manage the ward – with guidance from the residents and consultants.  They get opportunities to assist in operations and to perform minor elective and emergency procedures under supervision.

Postgraduate Course

The postgraduate (MS) trainees are rotated through the unit as per the schedule drawn by the Department of Surgery, according to the University guidelines.  During their posting they are exposed to different aspect of surgical training activities according to their level and needs.
